As
of January of 2003, there are significant projects looming on the horizon. The
most significant is the necessity for replacing the roof. The Pinellas county
building codes now require that roofs meet South Florida standards for wind resistance.
This will substantially increase the previous estimates of 5 or 6 years ago.
There are many small projects we can undertake that can beautify, our community and make it more secure, and enjoyable. Obviously there are no large capital projects we can undertake without the approval of the membership. But with a little imagination and some personal involvement, there is much we can do that will not strain the budget. For instance, Jim & Vicky Dickerson recently volunteered to plant flowers and generally beautify the front entrance. The board allocated a small fund for the plants and materials. This will make coming home a real pleasure for all of us. We could save many dollars throughout the year, (and reduce your fee) if we could find a way to marshall some volunteer labor power to do some of the small things now currently being contracted for by our association. | |||||||
