Tampa

Bay

Harvest

There are Large numbers of homeless and hungry people in the Tampa bay area who are dependent on socially conscious citizens like us for life sustaining nutrients.  Bring a can, box, or two.   It’s the Humanist thing to do!

Good bye, Sidney

Glenn Paul

for his leadership and excellent work in the rights restoration project. To date, more than125,000 ex-felons have been restored to civil society.

Our Friend, Sidney Goetz has left us.  After a brief hospitalization, he died on Monday , June 23rd.  He was 94.

He served on our board for 8 years and on the board of the national AHA also for 8 years, as well as president of the Humanists of Florida Association for 3 terms.  He was a founder of the local chapter of Americans United, and served on the Pinellas board of the ACLU for over 20 years.  As a Jurist, he served the people on many state boards with a gubernatorial appointment to three.  He taught many courses at St Petersburg College and at Stetson.
He was learned, and kind, abrasive, pithy, generous, acerbic, humorous, exquisitely intelligent, witty, and full of the kind of profound human empathy that animates the best of what any of us can hope to be.  His life will resonate in a number of constructive ways in many future generations.

Our Program for Saturday , July 5th…

some of our least examined social mores as well as some all-too-common cognitive dysfunctions.

It is hoped that the video presentations will alternate with actual live thinking and commentary by members of the audience as we digest and ruminate upon the wisdom that has been disclosed.
